Fun and action abound in Ötztal Valley

With its central location in Obergurgl, Hotel Alpenblume is the perfect starting point for a wide range of activities in the great outdoors. While our valley is surrounded by alpine landscapes, Mediterranean flair is just around the corner.

For fun lovers and thrill seekers, the Area 47 outdoor adventure park at the entrance of Ötztal Valley is the place to be. Once you have had  your adrenaline fix from the waterslide park, hydro speed slide, diving platform , deep-water soloing and blobbing, you can unwind and recharge your batteries at the Aqua Dome Thermal Spa in the town of Längenfeld nearby.

Bike enthusiasts can get their fair share of action at the Bike Republic Sölden and Gurgl bike park, with its flowing nature trails, top-notch downhill rides and marked enduro tracks. If you prefer to ride a self-powered bike, don’t forget to stop at Europe’s highest elevated motorbike museum, the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum, on your way southwards via the scenic Timmelsjoch mountain pass.

Always dreamed of travelling back in time? Then pay Ötzi the Iceman a visit in the Ötzi Village, dedicated to Europe’s oldest known natural mummy. You can learn even more about (his)story by visiting the site where the Iceman was discovered in the eternal ice of a glacier over 3,000 metres above sea level in the neighbouring town of Vent.

From the glacier mummy to James Bond – another must-see attraction is 007 Elements, a spectacular cinematic installation celebrating the world’s most famous secret agent, in the town of Sölden.

If you wish to sample some Mediterranean flair, the impressive Timmelsjoch mountain road takes you right to the town of Merano in Italy, where you can enjoy la dolce vita with a good cup of cappuccino under palm trees in the heart of Adige/South Tyrol – a region that, thanks to its pleasantly warm temperatures, offers southern Italian vibes from early spring to the end of autumn.
